Miracle Theatre: An Intimate, Historic Gem on Capitol Hill
This legendary Capitol Hill venue dates back to the tail end of 1909; originally the Meader Theater, it thrived as a community-focused locale for vaudeville theater–and later, movies–until the 1960s. The venue has changed hands, purposes, and names many times over the last few decades, finally reopening as Miracle Theatre in 2016. Thanks to significant restoration and revitalization efforts with a mind towards preserving its historic personality and beauty, Miracle Theatre was well-situated to once again be a go-to venue for intimate entertainment on Barracks Row, a promise on which the Brindley Brothers continue to deliver.
With schedules filled with on-the-pulse live programming like Gracie Abrams, Ramy Yusef, The Antlers, Sarah Sherman, and more, Union Stage Presents continues to give the oldest operating movie theater in Washington, DC a breath of fresh air while keeping the venue’s tradition of showcasing meaningful, community-oriented entertainment. Come and be a part of the miraculous history.
