Brian K & The Parkway was born on a Jersey boardwalk, reared in a Virginia basement, and developed on stages spanning the east coast. Veteran Washington, DC area musicians Brian K. Pagels and Stephen Russ formed the band while on a Bruce Springsteen themed pilgrimage, later adding guitarist Mike Shade. Their roots-oriented yet expansive take on Rock & Roll has been compared to The Boss himself as well as Tom Petty, John Mayer, Elvis Costello, and Drive-By Truckers. Killing The Bear, their debut album, is a musical and lyrical journey from the Gulf Shores of the American South to the Green Mountains of Vermont; from a crowded bazaar in the Middle East to drought-stricken California; from the Rock & Soul of the Jersey Shore to heartbreak in the American heartland. On this special evening they’ll be celebrating the release of their new acoustic EP.
Troy Millette has gained recognition as one of the region’s most engaging live acts. Since emerging on the Vermont circuit in 2009, Millette’s emotive and relatable lyrics have made him a staple of dives, clubs, and festivals across the northeast United States and Quebec. In March 2022 he was invited to showcase his talents at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. That same year, the Fire Below received the title of Vermont’s “Best Folk Group” at the Seven Daysies Awards. The debut solo EP from Troy Millette entitled “Living With A Ghost” is a five-song collection that Seven Days says is “sure to strike a chord with fans of storytelling Americana troubadours such as [Jason] Isbell and the radio-friendly stylings of Kip Moore.”
